What is the Safety Escort Program?

The Safety Escort Program is a program offered by Chadron State College Campus Security. If you have issues with a friend, co-worker, or just felt uneasy about walking from a building on campus to another location, Campus Security will walk with you or give you a ride and ensure you make it to your destination safely and in a professional and courteous manner.

What the Safety Escort Program is not.

The Safety Escort is not a shuttle service. Campus Security is busy with other various duties and calls. We encourage only those with real or serious fears contact us for a Safety Escort. We do not leave campus to take or retrieve anyone needing a ride. If you are almost to campus, we will meet you and escort you the rest of the way to your destination.

How to get a Safety Escort?

Campus Security understands every day life can be inconsistent and issues arise. We encourage those who need a Safety Escort to call and set up a walk or ride. However, if this is not possible, we welcome your call. In the case of emergencies, please contact 911 or 9-911 from campus phones. If needing a Safety Escort, please call the Chadron Police Department’s non-emergency number at 308-432-0510 or CSC Security at 308-432-6037. The Dispatcher will contact Campus Security and Security Officers will come to your campus location as soon as possible.

When is the Safety Escort Available?

The Safety Escort is available seven days a week from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Who is the Safety Escort Program available to?

The Safety Escort Program is available to all CSC students and employees.
